ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT REGION 1 (EDR1) IS COMPOSED OF THREE LOCAL WORKFORCE AREAS:

LWIA 19 – Macon & DeWitt Counties

LWIA 20 – Sangamon, Christian, Logan, Menard and Cass Counties

LWIA 21: Macoupin, Montgomery, Shelby, Morgan, Scott and Greene Counties

The Workforce Boards of Local Areas 19, 20 and 21, in association with their partner agencies, have produced a plan for the Central Economic Development Region (CEDR-1) in accordance with the state and local area plans, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) regulations, and the State of Illinois Regional and Local Planning Guide. The Local Workforce Boards are committed to creating workforce development strategies that promote the economic well-being of both employers and workers in the region.
