high school seniors explore career opportunities at local hiring event
Workforce Investment Solutions, the Economic Development Corporation of Decatur and Macon County, and the Decatur Regional Chamber of Commerce are proud to have presented a hiring event on April 12th and 13th for high school seniors. Over the event’s two-day duration, more than 120 seniors from MacCarthur and Eisenhower high schools attended the event at Decatur’s Grand Palace Banquet Hall, where they gained networking experience and learned about employment opportunities with around a dozen companies.
For seniors interested in entering the workforce upon graduation, this event helped them consider potential career paths and gain valuable connections with many major local employers, such as Caterpillar, ADM, and the Kelly Group. Empowering the youth of our area and helping guide them towards successful, sustainable careers is a vital component of strengthening the local workforce and enhancing the surrounding communities.
